What is the essence of Sci-Fi stories?
'Unfamiliar Tendencies' is a book design for the science fiction story 'Invisible Planets' written by Chinese author, HaoJing Fang.
To me a fictional stories are based on the reality with added imaginative elements, making the familiar unfamiliar. To emphasize this, I designed parts of the pages in a way such that the reader has to use an unfamiliar act (tendencies) to read the stories. This book has eight pages designed with this concept and was placed in the most fictional parts of the story. Each page is designed differently to create a surprise-effect, hence emphasizing the atmosphere around fiction.
By creating this atmospher will influence the reader to focus on the most important parts of the story.
